A harsh flash-photography close-up portrait of a pretty ***** human man with soft olive skin, huge dark eyes, long lashes, a small upturned nose, full lips, and shaggy dark hair dyed unevenly lavender at the ends. His face is youthful but unmistakably *****, with a soft jaw, slightly crooked smile, and one eyebrow naturally higher than the other.
He is standing inside the cramped bedroom of an SJL apartment, surrounded by thrift-store clothes, tangled jewelry, discarded takeout containers, stuffed animals, cheap perfume bottles, posters, and a standing fan covered in stickers. He wears a tiny cropped cardigan over a black lace camisole, an absurdly short plaid skirt over ripped tights, chunky black platform shoes, and mismatched silver earrings. His fingernails are painted glossy black, with several chipped down to the nail.
The expression isn’t posed. It feels like somebody has just caught him attempting to hide something embarrassing behind his back. Harsh camera flash creates bright highlights on his glossy lips and jewelry while throwing his cluttered bedroom into chaotic shadow.
Expressive painterly brushwork, shape-based rendering, economical detail, large shadow masses, visible paint marks, objects suggested rather than fully rendered, imperfect facial structure, real person rather than model, portrait of a bratty alternative neighborhood fixture in Saint Jude’s Landing.
