Two women sit on the roof of a seaside apartment building beneath a vast summer sky. One has windblown coral hair and wears a loose yellow raincoat, while the other has dark blue braids and balances a bowl of cherries on her lap. White sheets billow from a nearby clothesline, occasionally revealing the glittering ocean beyond the railing. A small radio rests between their shoes, its antenna decorated with a blue ribbon. Bright afternoon light washes the concrete in pale cream and turquoise, while the long shadow of a water **** provides a cool corner around the pair.
